Recently, a client from Ghana visited NPW’s headquarters in Qingdao for an on‑site inspection. The client plans to build a modern broiler slaughterhouse in Ghana. After in‑depth technical discussions and equipment tours, they signed a complete broiler slaughter solution with NPW, covering the main slaughter line, by‑product processing lines, and large‑scale cold storage systems.

📊 Project Scale Overview
| Item | Specification |
|---|---|
| Slaughter capacity | 3,000 birds per hour |
| Annual throughput | Approx. 6 million birds (based on 8 hours/day, 250 days/year) |
| Maximum bird weight | 3 kg/bird |
| Cold storage configuration | 3 blast freezers (15 tons each, –40°C) + 2 conventional freezers (250 tons each, –18°C) |

🔧 Main Slaughter Line: Full Automation from Crate Unloading to Packaging
NPW provided a complete broiler slaughter line, including key equipment:
- Crate unloader & crate washer – automatic unloading and empty‑crate washing for reuse, significantly reducing manual handling.
- Stunning / bleeding / blood collection system – adjustable water‑bath stunner for humane slaughter; well‑designed blood trough for efficient collection.
- Scalding & plucking – precise temperature‑controlled scalding tank (58–62°C) combined with A‑type vertical pluckers; plucking rate over 99%.
- Evisceration & cutting sections – manual evisceration table, pre‑chiller, and spiral pre‑chilling machine for rapid carcass cooling.
- Chicken feet & gizzard processing lines – automatic cutting, washing, grading, and chilling for chicken feet; automatic peeling, washing, and sorting for gizzards – maximizing by‑product value.
- Packaging system – overhead track automatic packaging machine + vacuum packaging machine, suitable for whole birds and cuts.
The entire line is made of 304 stainless steel, meets international food hygiene standards, and uses variable‑frequency drives for line balancing.
❄️ Cold Storage System: Internationally Branded Compressors for Stable Long‑Term Operation
To match the annual slaughter capacity of 6 million birds, NPW designed five cold storage rooms:
- 3 blast freezers ( –40°C, 15 tons each) – for rapid freezing of broilers and cuts, locking in freshness.
- 2 conventional freezers ( –18°C, 250 tons each) – for long‑term storage of finished products, supporting batch shipments.
All cold storage rooms use internationally branded compressors (e.g., Bitzer / Copeland / Hanbell) , together with high‑efficiency evaporators and temperature control systems, ensuring stable operation under extreme conditions and optimized energy consumption.

🏭 Client Visit: Factory Tour Demonstrates Manufacturing Strength, Live Demo Highly Appreciated
During the visit, the client toured NPW’s production workshop, witnessing stainless steel fabrication, robotic welding, assembly, and testing – highly commending the equipment craftsmanship and quality control. Afterwards, the client observed a live demonstration of the 3,000 BPH slaughter line in the demo workshop (stunning, scalding, plucking, evisceration, pre‑chilling, etc.), expressing satisfaction with the equipment’s compact design, ease of operation, and cleaning convenience.

The two sides held a half‑day in‑depth discussion on issues such as slaughterhouse layout, cold storage flow, and staffing. The client particularly noted that NPW’s complete solution – “from live bird receiving to frozen product dispatch” – perfectly aligns with their goal of building a modern, high‑hygiene, large‑scale slaughterhouse.

🤝 Signing & Next Steps
The client signed the equipment purchase contract immediately after the visit. NPW will provide detailed plant layout drawings, equipment installation guidance, technical training for operators, and long‑term spare parts support. The client looks forward to building Ghana’s leading modern broiler slaughtering and processing base with NPW’s assistance.
